I wish this next one wasn’t true, but unfortunately, I can’t say that it isn’t. I wish that every time we took time off work or went on vacation, we totally ignored our work responsibilities and focused entirely on having fun and not thinking about our work.

But that’s impossible; many of us have jobs where answering emails while on vacation is expected or even required. Sometimes, other people at work can’t move forward on important projects until they get feedback from us, and it can’t wait for two weeks until we’re back from Florida. So much for a relaxing vacation.
