45 Unusual Photos of Things You Probably Haven’t Seen Before

There’s an old saying that goes something like, “Red at night, sailor’s delight. Red in the morning, sailor take warning.” That phrase immediately came to mind for many people when they saw this ominous sunrise that was photographed in Qatar on December 26, 2019. An ominous red sun rose above the horizon, looking like “devil horns” to many people. 

The truth is much less dramatic but just as interesting. The photos were captured by Elias Chasiotis, who flew to Qatar to photograph the annular solar eclipse on December 26. According to Chasiotis, the morning was extremely cloudy. He was nervous that he wouldn’t be able to capture the eclipse, but he got lucky with these early morning shots. The photos soon went viral.
